Respite care is offered in all of our nursing homes depending on availability.
Our respite clients are generally those who may benefit or require temporary short term care away from their own home support systems for various reasons.
Respite clients are welcomed into our homes and have access to all our facilities. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and fitted out with profiling beds, nurse-call facility, multi-channel flat screen TV’s and telephone points.
Care needs will be discussed with you or the appropriate person prior to admission and an assessment will be conducted before a care plan is agreed with you.
Clients for respite care will be required to furnish documentation about past medical history, current health status and medications.
It is most important that clients in receipt of a community care package prior to admission have the re-instatement or continuity of this service confirmed for the date of planned discharge from respite care prior to admission.
Where indicated the Home Manager will liaise with the community care support services and next of kin to provide a discharge summary pertinent to the clients stay to ensure seamless continuity of care following the period of respite or convalescence.
Respite or short term stays can be facilitated on a private basis or in conjunction with the HSE.
