OUR LONG TERM CARE ADMISSIONS CRITERIA
The decision to commit to full or long term care is a very important one for families and requires deep consideration by you and by FirstCare. Long or full term admissions to FirstCare nursing homes are planned with you in advance of the actual admission date.
Upon receipt of an enquiry, we will invite you to come to an information session and a viewing of the home. This is facilitated by the Home Manager and will afford you an opportunity to hear how the home operates and to have your concerns and questions answered. There is no obligation associated with this visit.
Should you decide that you wish to progress the enquiry then with your agreement we will arrange a pre-admission assessment to clearly identify your physical, psychological and social needs so that we can assess whether we can adequately provide the care required and whether our home is an appropriate care setting for you.
Following the assessment and confirmation by the Home Manager that the individual care needs can be met by the staff and nursing home, a bed will be offered to you and when your funding or fair deal scheme is in place an admission date is agreed with you.
