Corporate Responsibility can be defined as the corporate belief that a company needs to be responsible for its actions: Socially, Ethically and environmentally.

We at FirstCare have recently embarked on a process of implementing strategic community involvement programmes for positive social benefit.

We are committed to responsible corporate citizenship and we encourage all staff at every level to make a positive impact in their local community.

Working with, and on behalf of, older people Age Action aim to make Ireland the best place in the world in which to grow older. FirstCare are honoured to have a close relationship with Age Action and welcome their Community Development Officers into several of our homes as advocates for our residents to facilitate our resident council meetings. FirstCare were delighted to be able to support the actions of Age Action by recently donating €500.00 towards the organisations charity efforts.

The Jack and Jill Foundation

The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation provides direct funding, to families of children with brain damage who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care. These are children who as a result of their condition require intensive home nursing care.

The Foundation gives these families THE GIFT OF TIME, time to do the things that we so often take for granted like shopping, taking their other children to the park, a night’s sleep etc

As a result of various fundraising activities by FirstCare staff, residents and their families, we were able to contribute €725 towards the Jack and Jill Foundation

The Wicklow Hospice
