FirstCare was founded in 1994 by Mervyn Smith, and our care brand name, FirstCare, was carefully chosen as it emphasizes our commitment to deliver holistic person centred care with compassion and kindness to all our residents.
Our staff work with residents and their families every day in this way. We passionately believe in the creed of meaningful person centeredness as a quality of life enhancing approach to all our interactions and engagements with all people.
Our ‘Love Later Life’ philosophy, and approach to creating uplifting environments and experiences for all our residents every day, highlights the integrity and meaningfulness of our core values.
FirstCare truly respects, values and invests in our staff and we pro-actively embrace our multi-cultural global staff that we have in all our Homes, who embrace our values and commits to providing care to residents in accordance with our philosophy.
We encourage our residents’ lives to be celebrated, with emphasis on providing an environment that inspires engagement.
Each person who enters residential care comes with a story, and we at FirstCare feel this story should be acknowledged and acclaimed.
Our mission across all FirstCare Homes is to deliver person centred care which is underpinned by our core values.
FirstCare commenced caring for older people in Earlsbrook House, Bray, Co Wicklow in February 1994 and we have steadily grown over the past 25 years.
FirstCare are very proud that our residential care homes form a vital and respected part of the local communities of Bray, Wicklow Town, Kilcock, Glasnevin and Finglas.
FirstCare residential care homes provide short and long term care services for people such as: respite and convalescent care; care for those that are frail; who require care due to a physical disability; for those that require specialized care due to dementia/Alzheimer’s; and also for people requiring end of life care.
